European Qualifications Framework (EQF)

The EQF is a single European reference framework that facilitates understanding, comparing, and recognising qualifications across various European nations and systems.

The French national professional qualifications framework has eight qualification levels that match the EQF.

Comparing & recognising

The EQF makes it easy to determine levels of qualification in other European countries. Additionally, this strengthens the process of comparing and recognising qualifications across international borders.

Educational Transition

Utilizing the EQF competency framework facilitates seamless student mobility across educational backgrounds and universities, particularly important in a global labor context.

France's involvement

France, an EU Member, is working toward implementing the EQF. The EQF works with other European and international instruments to support the recognition of qualifications.
