Language qualifications are essential requirements for international students to study abroad. Due to the countries where they want to continue their learning journey, some fundamental prerequisites must be met, though it also varies depending on the programs and universities they select.

French Languages Qualifications
As French is the primary language taught in colleges and universities, you must demonstrate your proficiency while studying abroad in France.
Depending on the degree you demand to pursue at university, you are expected to have a B1/B2 level of French in your European Language Passport.
- In the context of first and second-year students, undergraduates must prove their French language proficiency by passing language tests at the B1 level or obtaining a degree in French in order to attend French universities.
- Students should check up with the courses and school requirements for the French language in attending Grande École, the 3rd year of a study program, or enroll in a Ph.D. or master’s program as they are based on study programs.
There are two tests for people to take part in to prove their French proficiency. Besides, students who want to study abroad can prepare for a French degree, which benefits them in the application process.
French Language tests
TCF (Test de Connaissance du français) is the official test administered by the French Ministry of Education and designed by France Education International (FEI). The tests can be taken online with correspondence in certain countries, and scores are valid for two years.
Le TEF (Test d’évaluation de français) is an international reference distributed and created by the CCI of Paris Ile-de-France, which students can take it online in receiving results immediately after. It assesses the level of skills and knowledge in French on a scale of 7.
French Language Qualifications
They consist of six independent diplomas that attest to the candidates’ proficiency in the four areas of language competency. The DELF and DALF diplomas, unlike examinations, are permanent.
English Languages Qualifications
People must meet a few common prerequisites to study in France, such as English qualifications. Several are still perplexed as to why pupils must demonstrate their English ability in a country where French is the native dialect.
To be informed, there are still universities that provide English courses in which students can choose French or English teaching. For higher degree education, various schools would offer English taught, along with French-based systems; hence, applicants must provide English qualifications to continue their studies.
English Language Qualifications: IELTS
The International English Language Testing System is known as IELTS. It is one of the most significant tests taken by students worldwide to demonstrate their English language ability that is reported on a scale from 0 to 9 bands. The highest band a candidate can receive is 9.0, and the lower bands reflect a lower level of English competence.
The typical average minimum IELTS requirement to study in France is 6.5. However, each university’s minimum IELTS requirement varies, which students should look up on the administration websites for accurate information.
English Language Qualifications: TOEFL
TOEFL is another English language test that is also accepted as an eligibility criterion to study in France. To demonstrate their English language proficiency, international students can submit their Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores while applying to colleges in France.
TOEFL requirement to study in France, as students who wish to learn in France, an average score of 82. However, the TOEFL requirement varies from one university to another, and not all French universities acquire for.
